Overview
The AEA VSB-70 is a fast-scan amateur television transceiver made by Advanced Electronic Applications, Inc. It operates on the 70 cm amateur band and was designed for NTSC video and audio transmission and reception. The unit converts baseband video and audio into vestigial sideband television signals and can monitor through a standard TV on channel 3 or 4.

Physical Description
The VSB-70 is a compact tabletop amateur television unit with front-panel controls for camera/video selection, camera power, frequency selection, video gain, audio gain, receive/transmit switching, power, receive tuning, and crystal/VFO receive selection. Rear-panel connections include DC power, antenna, TV output, audio input, video input, and RF attenuation adjustment.
History
The VSB-70 was part of AEA’s amateur television equipment line and was intended for 70 cm fast-scan television operation. It allowed amateur operators to transmit live camera, camcorder, or VCR video with audio, and to receive compatible ATV signals using an ordinary television receiver as the display. The factory-installed transmit/receive frequencies were 434.00 MHz and 439.25 MHz, with optional crystals available for other ATV frequencies.
