Advanced Test Products (ATP)

Overview

Advanced Test Products (ATP) was a holding and management organization formed in 1999 through the consolidation of several test and measurement equipment businesses. ATP is best known within the electronics industry for acquiring and managing established test equipment brands, including Amprobe.

Following the formation of ATP in 1999, Amprobe’s operations were relocated from Lynbrook, New York, to South Florida, where ATP managed the company’s continued development, manufacturing, and distribution activities. ATP remained the parent organization until its acquisition by Danaher Corporation in 2006.

Description

ATP was created to manage and expand established brands in the electrical and electronic test equipment industry. Through ATP ownership, Amprobe continued production of clamp meters, multimeters, wire tracers, circuit analyzers, and other electrical test instruments.

The ATP period represented a transitional phase between Amprobe’s long-standing independent operations in New York and its later incorporation into Danaher Corporation’s test and measurement portfolio.
